This story is about a special man. His name is Jadav Molai Payeng. He lives on Majuli Island in India. At the age of sixteen, he sees dead snakes on the island. They are dead because it is too hot. The island has no trees to shade the snakes. He decides to plant trees to stop other snakes dying from the heat. He works very hard. He plants many trees for 38 years. The island turns into a big forest.
